Inspired by nature, Lisa Marseglia-Moran’s work expresses the connection of all living things. Although the process begins with an organic object or scene, it is more about the energy of the earth than a realistic representation of what she sees.

Influenced by abstract-expressionists like Kandinsky and DeKooning, she fell in love with abstract painting in her early 20s. Painting is not something she tries to completely control. As a painter, she feels part of something bigger. The perfect medium for sharing her love of nature, she describes the feeling of creating through oil painting as having a conversation with a close friend about something they both love.

In addition to working in oils, she created an award-winning style of mixed media works where multiple drawings, paintings or block prints are woven together to create a single, abstracted image. Although these weavings often begin as realistic representations of flowers and trees, the end result has a sense of rhythm and movement.

She also works creates block prints and pen and ink drawings when in a quieter mood.
