In Lak’ech

In Mayan tradition, there is a moral code that means, “I am you, you are me” or “You are my other me”.  This series is about the connection that exists between all of us. Across race, religion, socio-economic and educational backgrounds, we are all connected through our humanity.

These pieces started as separate portrait drawings that were then woven together. The challenge was in creating a unified image that retained the characteristics of the each individual. 

The process of creating this series became a beautiful metaphor.
